PAC-LAB is a conceptual interior design project for the company "Private MD Labs", created to promote the idea of regular medical testing as part of preventive healthcare. The concept envisions small, innovative laboratory centers located in areas such as Silicon Valley and Beverly Hills, USA. The spatial layout separates employee and client zones, allowing staff to move discreetly and efficiently. The center includes a reception area, waiting lounge, café, rest zone, offices, bathrooms, staff room, changing areas, and storage spaces.
The design, inspired by the classic video game Pac-Man, reinterprets the game’s labyrinth as a metaphor for the human circulatory system. Straight lines and soft, rounded shapes form a playful yet organized interior that balances functionality with visual harmony. A pastel color palette and gentle geometry create a friendly, uplifting atmosphere that helps visitors feel calm and comfortable in a medical setting.
The project focuses on creating a calming, accessible, and interactive environment that reduces patient stress through thoughtful spatial planning, tactile navigation for visually impaired individuals, and the integration of smart technologies. PAC-LAB was developed as part of a team project at EKA University of Applied Sciences.
